Amazon and eBay seem to be the exception and Jeff Bezos is all the more exceptional as he is still CEO. It’s much harder to come up with super successful Internet companies which only have one founder. Even Oracle which is closely associated with Larry Ellison has multiple founders. It will be difficult for you no matter what age you are, as well.Looking at the most successful Internet and technology companies of the past few decades, it’s shocking to see how many have two or more founders: Google, Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Youtube, Skype, Yahoo to name a few all have multiple founders. If you want a decent work/life balance, don’t work a job with a 10 hour shift. No matter what you decide, Amazon will live on with or without you. LOL! Amazon culture.Take it, or leave it. For legality sake, this is a place that is for us former and current employees to go to, and share our feelings. But, no matter how much is said here, someone will always take your place.
Besos knows that, and he knows someone else will always need a job, quit, then go on here and “vent” about issues that will never be resolved. Amazon will always replace you after you’re gone. But, it might help the person who is thinking of applying. All these complaints will persist for the rest of Amazon’s lifetime. Saying anything here will not change that. So far, Amazon employees are still complaining of the same things. When you get home, you’ll spend the few hours you have trying to feel your legs again! If you need a job quick, with no other options, then Amazon is for you. Be fast! Do it right! Get it over with as fast as you can then go home. Extremely long hours and extremely physical work. I never called off sick, nor took a day off, and they liked that! Any employer does! This is the culture of any warehouse or Delivery Service.
It is physically exhausting! Your work/life balance will not be great, if you have a family, or are taking classes. Look.you can’t work for Amazon, unless you can physically handle the work and hours! If you are a parent, please think twice. 10 hour days and very physical work meant going home with extremely sore muscles, and difficulty sleeping due to anxiety & soreness. Don’t let the opinions of others scare you into not applying for this part time job. Overall Hou1 has been a great place to work at, it just takes a bit of time to adjust and learn what the managers expect of you as a worker. I also enjoy the shift change options here and then because it allows me to adjust my work life when my personal life changes.

Good things about this warehouse is that there’s giveaways, free stuff here and now, themed days and familiar faces that understand the job well. When people lighten up, the job becomes much easier and things get done in an efficient way. Overall my only complaints would be that some people take their jobs a little too seriously for being a pt employee and want to yell at others for not getting things done. The new layout of the warehouse made things harder for a week but now it’s running smoothly. Be prepared to learn many different positions as you’re going to need it here. While there is a lot of stuff to complain about, like not having enough equipment to work with or there being too many new workers not knowing what to do, every shift mostly ends with things getting done miraculously.
Managers are nice and are always running around doing stuff themselves, with the exception of some bad apples. It’s not a horrible place to work at, just very face pace and a lot of hard work. I’ve been at the Hou1 warehouse for 5 months and it’s been a wild time there.
